The seventh annual Centennial Classic will take place Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Credit Union Place, when the host Summerside Western Capitals host the Valley Wildcats. Everything you need to know is in the FAQs below.
The first Centennial Classic took place in the 2017-2018 season when the Caps topped the Truro Bearcats by a score of 5-2. The Western Capitals were victorious in the second Centennial Classic one year later in a 7-3 game against the Pictou County Crushers. There have been big moments throughout Centennial Classic history, from Brodie MacArthur's hat-trick and seven-point performance in 2019, to the Caps' 10-goal explosion against Miramichi in 2022, to Blake Eastman's overtime winner in Centennial Classic VI.
But no matter what year we're talking about, one element has remained consistent: the Centennial Classic is when we bring the community together for a night of hockey. That's right: the tickets are on us!
There will be special Centennial Classic pucks for the first 500 kids to enter the Island Petroleum Energy Centre at Credit Union Place, special prizes throughout the night, and the first ever Race To Shoot To Win contest during the first intermission.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHO/WHAT/WHEN/WHERE/WHY?
Centennial Classic VII takes place Thursday, November 21st, at 7:00 PM at the Island Petroleum Energy Centre in Summerside, Prince Edward Island. The Summerside Western Capitals will host the Valley Wildcats. This is the seventh year that the Centennial Auto Group has brought the community together for a special night of Junior A hockey.
HOW DO I GET MY FREE TICKETS?
Centennial is injecting thousands of ticket vouchers into the community. The first opportunity to grab vouchers for Centennial Classic VII was at the November 10th Caps game. There will also be vouchers passed along to students at local schools.
The first ticket voucher pick-up opportunity will be with members of the Western Capitals in the Credit Union Place lobby on Wednesday, November 13th, from 5:30-7:00 PM.
The second ticket voucher pick-up opportunity will once again be with members of the Western Capitals in the Credit Union Place lobby on Wednesday, November 20th, from 5:30-7:00PM pending availability.
Ticket vouchers will also be handed out as fans enter the arena at the Western Capitals game on Saturday, November 16th.
WHAT DO I DO WITH THE VOUCHER?
Ticket vouchers MUST be redeemed for game tickets at the Credit Union Place box office. The ticket voucher is not a game ticket and can not be used to enter the arena during the Centennial Classic.
One ticket voucher is redeemable for one game ticket.
WHEN CAN I REDEEM MY VOUCHER?
We recommend redeeming your voucher as soon as possible for two reasons. First, tickets will only be available while supplies last. Second, lineups will likely be quite long as we approach puck drop. Skip the lines and redeem your voucher as soon as possible!
WHAT IS A VOUCHER?
A voucher is basically a small piece of paper – in this case, a business card – that entitles the holder to a discount. In the case of the Centennial Classic, the voucher discount is equal to 100%. The cost of the tickets is on us!
WHY DOES THE VOUCHER SAY "WHILE SUPPLIES LAST"?
Capacity at Credit Union Place is limited. If enough vouchers are redeemed to account for all available tickets, the arena will be sold out. So act fast!
WHAT ARE THE BOX OFFICE HOURS?
The Credit Union Place box office is open:
- Monday-Friday, 6:00AM to 9:00PM
- Saturday, 7:00AM to 9:00PM
- Sunday, 9:00AM to 9:00PM
WHERE IS THE BOX OFFICE?
The box office is located inside the lobby at Credit Union Place at 511 Notre Dame Street in Summerside.
