Two weeks since Kia Canada unveiled the Sedona's replacement, the all-new 2022 Kia Carnival, we're ready to provide updates on detailed pricing, trim level specification, and colour options for Kia's newest model.
What did we learn when Kia first displayed the Carnival in late February? It looks terrific, it's available with in either 7 or 8-passenger configurations, the tech advancements are astounding, and there is an absolute ton of family-friendly space.
What do we know now? Here are some of the key facts.
- • The 2022 Kia Carnival will be available in Canada in five different trim levels: LX, LX+, EX, EX+, and SX.
- • All Carnivals will be powered by a class-leading 290-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 that offers 3,500 pounds of towing capacity.
- • Passenger room and cargo space are both tops in the MPV segment.
- • The Carnival uses Kia's N3 architecture, which you'll also find underpinning the new Sorento and the K5 sedan.
- • The Carnival will be the first Kia to wear Kia's new logo.
We'll get to the trim levels a minute, but take note of the Kia Carnival's class-leading designations in two of the most important MPV categories: passenger space and cargo space. The numbers are staggering. The Carnival's cargo volume behind the front seats is 4,108 litres, plus there's 4,763 litres of total passenger space. If you're interested in a vehicle like this because of its ability to carry people and their stuff, it doesn't get any better – or bigger – than the 2022 Carnival.

The $41,995 EX is the mid-grade model. The $45,295 Carnival EX+ is an outstanding value, and the top-spec $48,295 Carnival SX undercuts top-line models from the competition by $10,000 or more.
