The 2022 Kia Telluride is celebrating its third model-year anniversary with its third consecutive Car and Driver 10Best win!
Kia’s largest-ever SUV has been turning heads since its debut in 2020. In its first year on the market, the Telluride earned the most awards of any Kia vehicle, and it’s safe to say this sport utility SUV isn’t losing any momentum. In fact, Kia’s year-to-date Telluride sales are up almost 40%, in part propelled by industry awards like Car and Driver’s 10Best.
As one of Kia’s best-selling vehicles, there wasn’t much to improve for the 2022 model year, yet Kia still managed to upgrade their already impressive SUV. The latest Telluride maintains its signature bold style, adding new Kia badging with a minor redesign to the radiator grille. The most significant changes were made to the Telluride’s interior, where Kia added a larger 10.25-inch navigation display, and additional convenience and safety features across trim levels.
So what does it take to earn a spot on Car and Driver’s coveted 10Best list? For two full weeks, new models are put to the test against former winners, along with over 300 new cars, trucks, SUVs, and vans to find the 10 vehicles priced below $90,000 USD that they believe deliver the most value and a great driving experience.
Let’s find out what these industry-leading automotive experts say put the 2022 Kia Telluride above the rest:
“The Kia Telluride remains one of our favorite SUVs on the market,” says Sharon Silke Carty, Car and Driver editor in chief. “It is a well-rounded top choice in its segment and is a benchmark family vehicle that never lets us down.”
“You climb inside, and it's like somehow your Kia fob unlocked a Range Rover. That doesn't only apply to the features list, which can include heated and ventilated second-row seats, nappa leather, an Alcantara headliner, and a head-up display.”
“The execution is what elevates the Telluride above its peers—the solidity, the design, the way the steering wheel feels in your hands, all belong to a higher price echelon. Kia's always been good at delivering loads of equipment at a strong value, but the Telluride marks the moment when it mastered the intangibles, the way small details cohere to distinguish great cars.”
